Nashua PAL is so grateful for your support of the PAL Golf Classic! With the utmost consideration for the safety of our guests and volunteers that make this day so wonderful, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 PAL Golf Classic. 2020 has been a challenging year for us all! As you likely know, the PAL Golf Classic is a major fundraiser that supports Nashua PAL programming for over 2,000 youth in Greater Nashua. This event, along with PAL’s other cancelled fundraisers – PAL Sports Dinner, St. Paddy’s Day Rumble, and Gate City Brewfest – especially support the PAL Youth Safe Haven afterschool/summer program. This program is provided at no-cost to families. While the Youth Safe Haven officially “closed the doors” due to COVID in March, and is currently undergoing a major renovation to bring new safety, accessibility, and educational resources to youth… PAL’s support for youth and families never even paused! We immediately shifted to creating virtual programming, ramped up food pantries, and made sure families had access to all the resources. Now, we are hosting small group activities in the Los Amigos Park and some small field trips while we plan for back-to-school. We are working to address the COVID-19 education gap with small tutoring/mentoring groups, ramped up educational resources, and increased safety measures. If you are able, a donation in lieu of your golf registration/raffle tickets would go a LONG way in supporting PAL’s continued programming for some of our most vulnerable population – Nashua’s youth. With the support of wonderful community members like yourself, we will not only get through this trying time, we will help our youth thrive into strong community leaders.
